DISCOVERING A NEW PURPOSE WITHIN THE OLDEST USES OF MUSIC

After a 15-year career in live performance, musician Cyrus Quaranta took a hiatus from the busy corporate  music industry to reconnect with his personal artistry. During that time, he was introduced to the use of singing sound bowls as a healing modality for regulating the nervous system.

For 6 months, he developed a personal approach to using crystal singing bowls by playing for personal  friends and family members in their homes, providing much needed assistance with their physical and mental disorders such as anxiety, mania, depression, and cancer.

It was through these sessions that he discovered the methods that were most effective on his listeners.

from ceremony to expanding our community

After several months of sharing his newly developed art form, Cyrus began to facilitate private ceremonial meditation sessions for small groups. It was in one of these groups that he met the co-founder of Melodic Meditation, Andrea Bridson. Together, they would expand the reach of his sound baths across Northeast Florida, providing sessions for both corporate entities and the citizens of Jacksonville as a regular public service through their secret sound bath series, inviting people to explore new parks on a regular basis.

Her contributions to Melodic Meditation were foundational to the ethos and methodologies still used today in our operations.

amplifying our efforts & nurturing our roots

The continued work of Melodic Meditation now encompasses partnerships with organizations like the City of Jacksonville, Johnson & Johnson, Women Veterans Ignited, and more. Our goals remain the same -to provide physical and mental relief through music and relaxation. Because of this, our continued efforts to increase access to sound baths for the general public include working with other city park departments and developing unique special events and experiences like artist concerts, salt therapy sound baths, and more.

Today, our operations continue to expand and explore new ways to introduce the use of music and sound as a positive tool for life.
